Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information DirtFlow ("DirtFlow", "we", "us") collects when you use dirtflow.app, how we use it, and who can see it. Questions go to dirtflow.app@hipointmapping.com.

1. What we collect

• Account information. When you create an account with an email and password, or with Google, we receive your name, email address and, for Google sign-in, your profile photo. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see them.
• Listing information. When you post a listing we store its title, import or export type, material, volume, timeline, notes, expiry date and map location. We turn the address you enter into map coordinates. We also store your display name with the listing, plus the contact name and phone number or email you enter for it.
• Payment information. Paid plans are bought through Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, and we never receive or store them. Stripe tells us your email address, your Stripe customer ID and whether your subscription is active.
• Usage information. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It records pages viewed, how you reached the site, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. It sets cookies to do this.
• Your location in the browser. If you allow it, your browser's location is used to center the map and measure distances to listings. It stays in your browser, and we do not store it.
• Messages you send us. If you email us or reply to one of our emails, we keep the message.

2. Who can see your information

• Anyone, including people who are not signed in: your listing's title, type, material, volume, timeline, notes, expiry date, map location and display name. This information can also be read directly from the app's database.
• Paid subscribers only: the contact name and phone number or email you enter for a listing.
• Not shown to other users: your account email address, your password and your payment details.

3. How we use it

• To run the marketplace: show listings on the map, let you manage your listings, and handle your subscription.
• To email you about your account and listings, for example a confirmation when you post. If you subscribe, we also email you match alerts.
• To promote listings. New listings may be featured in DirtFlow posts on LinkedIn and other social media. These posts do not include your contact details. We may use AI tools, such as Anthropic's Claude, to help write these posts from your listing text.
• To tell you about related products and services. DirtFlow is run by a business that also offers construction technology, such as machine-control equipment and surveying services. We may use your account and listing information to contact you about them. You can opt out at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to us.
• To read and sort replies to our emails. We may use an AI service to do this.
• To keep the service working, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers

We rely on these companies to run DirtFlow. Each receives only the information it needs for its part of the service:

• Google: Firebase hosting, sign-in, database and cloud functions; Google Analytics; and Gmail, which we use to send email.
• Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): finds the addresses you enter for listings and jobsites on the map.
• OpenStreetMap, Esri and code libraries (unpkg, Google): your browser loads map images and page code from these providers, so they can see your IP address.
• Anthropic: AI help with drafting promotional posts and sorting email replies.
• LinkedIn and other social media platforms, plus the scheduling tools we use to post to them, for promoting listings.

5. If DirtFlow changes hands

If DirtFlow or its assets are sold or transferred, your information may transfer to the new owner. The new owner must honor this policy for information collected under it.

6. Keeping and deleting your information

• Listings are hidden from the map after their expiry date. We may keep or delete expired listings.
• You can delete your own listings in the app at any time.
• To delete your account, email dirtflow.app@hipointmapping.com from the address on your account. Within 30 days we will delete your account, your listings and your subscription record. The exceptions are records we must keep, such as payment records held by Stripe and tax records.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. For example, listing contact details are stored separately and can be read only by paid subscribers. No system is perfectly secure, though, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission.

8. Your choices

• Emails: reply to any of our emails asking to be removed, or write to us.
• Analytics: you can block cookies in your browser or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Location: you can decline or revoke location access in your browser. The map still works; you just won't see distances from where you are.

9. Children

DirtFlow is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
